Everything went file, but in the middle of the installation, it got stuck, and later the installation failed without any reason. So, I tried to reboot again, but it said that the reinstallation failed and asked me to reinstall again. I tried to reinstall, but nothing came up. So I tried to use Disk Utility to erase the startup disk and make a new partition. But, when trying to partition, Disk Utility said that it cannot unmount the disk. In Disk Utility, I found another disk called disk2 and Mac OS X Base System. As far as I know, I didn't see that disk2 in my disk list before. By default it’s a blurred version of Sierra’s iconic wallpaper, or a blurred version of your current wallpaper. Have you ever wished this image wasn’t blurred? Or that it was different than your default wallpaper? Here you need to select Apple Mac OS X as operating system and choose 10.11 from OS X version then click Next. As it turns out, the user can control what shows up here, but it takes a few steps. Here’s how to configure this image to look exactly the way you want it to. This method works in macOS Sierra, Yosemite, and El Capitan. The Easy Way: Change Your Desktop Wallpaper If you use a single custom wallpaper on your Mac, you’re probably wondering why this article exists. That’s because changing the blurred image behind your login screen is as simple as. But there are some catches. For example: if your wallpaper is a rotating folder of images, macOS uses the default Sierra wallpaper instead. If you want to use one of your own images, you can do that, without ditching your rotating collection of images. First, right-click your desktop, then click “Change Desktop Background.” (Note: if you use multiple desktops in Mission Control, make sure that you open this window on your left-most desktop, labeled “Desktop 1.”) Now change your wallpaper to whatever you’d like your login screen’s background to be. If you want to switch back to the rotating folder you had before, you can do that, but first let’s make sure that macOS has set your new image as the background for your login screen. Open the finder, then choose Go > Citrix access gateway for mac. Go To Folder. Type /Library/Caches and click Go. In this folder, you should see an image here named “com.apple.desktop.admin.png,” and if your changes took hold this image will be a blurred version of whatever you set as your wallpaper. Sometimes this will take a minute, so be patient. Once you see your image, go ahead and turn your rotating wallpaper back on, if you wish—in our tests this did not affect this file. Now log out of your account or restart your Mac to see your new login screen. It’s working! Note that, if you have a rotating wallpaper, this change will not affect your lock screen, which will always show a version of your current wallpaper (on Desktop 1.) The login screen, however, is now set as a blurred version of your preferred image. Use An Unblurred Picture For Your Login Screen If you’d rather your login screen not be blurred, you can do that too! I recommend first following the steps above, so that there is an image in the /Library/Caches folder. Then, copy that image to your desktop by dragging it there. We’ll use this image in a little bit. First, open whatever image you’d like to show up behind your login screen with Preview. Select the entire canvas (Command+A), then copy it (Command+C). Next, head to your desktop and open the file you copied from /Library/Caches. Paste (Command+V) what you just copied. You will need to move and resize what you’re pasting quite a bit in order to get everything just right. When you’re done, save the image (Command+S). Sandisk cruzer secure access download. ![]() Head back to your desktop, and drag your edited image to the /Library/Caches folder. You will be asked if you’d like to replace the file that’s there; click “Replace.” You’ve now placed your custom background image. Go ahead and log out of your user account to see how it looks: It worked! In my case, however, the white maple leaf is making it hard to read the white text used by macOS. To fix this, I found a different version of this image where the leaf is blue. This version puts the darker part of the image behind the text, which makes it easier to read everything. How to install osx to pc 2017 download. Controller Support levels. Any Steam game can be played while in Big Picture mode, though not all Steam games support the use of a controller. Currently, Big Picture supports the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows, the Xbox 360 Wired Controller, and the Logitech Wireless Gamepad F710. The Steam Controller in Box The plan was to launch SteamOS on day one, release Steam Boxes on day two and finish off with the debut Steam Controller on day three. Like an alternative-universe-game-platform-holding Billy Ocean, they really wanted to out your monitor and into your car TV, and day three has arrived. Not only was every gamer's favorite company making new toys, the Steam Controller itself was wildly different from its contemporaries. No analog sticks, haptic feedback, touch screen in the middle, nonstandard buttons and placement, and two very large touch pads. It wasn't pretty, but it had pizzazz. The goal was to create an input device that would allow you to play all your favorite keyboard and mouse centric games, along with standard controller supported games, comfortably on your couch. But how do you make an input device that works as well for Civilization V as it does for Counter Strike? Fast forward a couple of years ( is poised to outlive Moore's law), sprinkle in some notable hardware, add a dash of an extremely limited public beta phase and a few internal redesigns, and what we've arrived at shares a lot more in common with Sony's DualShock 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One Controller than that original design. To meet their design goals Valve spun the wheel and landed on buttons! Four standard face buttons that follow Xbox colors and layout (x, y, a, b) adorn the bottom right of the controller face, and a single depressible analog stick occupies the lower left. Antivirus for old mac. There is an arrangement of three buttons in the middle of the controller (select, steam orb, start), left and right bumpers, left and right triggers, and an additional left and right paddle on the back of each grip that mirror the 'A' and 'X' buttons by default. The stars of the show are two very large, circular touch pads at the top. The touch pad in the top left is debossed with the shape of a standard d-pad cross, while the right pad is left completely smooth. Both pads are also clickable, adding two additional physical buttons. For those keeping count that leaves us at a healthy 16 physical buttons on the controller. ![]() In software either of the pads can be configured in one of six ways: as a 4-way directional pad, as a 4 button pad (x,y,a,b on diagonals like on the face), a joystick optimized for movement or camera control, as an emulated mouse cursor, or as a scroll wheel. By implementing two large touch pads, Valve managed to stumble on a somewhat ingenious two-controllers-in-one approach with their layout. You can use it like a standard controller with your left thumb on the analog stick, using your right thumb to trade off between face buttons and top-right pad duty, or alternatively you can 'choke up' on the controller, placing both your thumbs on the two touch pads and allowing your other fingers to rest on the shoulder buttons, triggers, and paddles on the back. This is particularly useful when switching between games written for mouse and keyboard or for standard controller input. Unfortunately due to the amount of buttons and the size of the touch pads, trade-offs were made. The x, y, a, and b face buttons suffer the most, squished into the bottom right corner of the contoller's face at a reduced size. The controller itself also ends up being larger than either the DualShock 4 or the Xbox One Controller. I never found it uncomfortable to hold, but after a couple of hours with it I'm still hitting face buttons I didn't mean to. Steam Controller (left), DualShock 4 (top), Xbox One Controller (right) What all of this adds up to is a versatile controller with a lot of room for customization. These days Valve is known for their community focused approach to delivering software as a service, and the Steam Controller is no different. They are leaning heavily on user generated controller mappings for games, making it as painless as possible to download community made control schemes or to share your own through Steam. Hardware is only as good as the software that enables it. Apple fans should be more familiar with that doctrine than most. As of this writing, the Steam Controller is not properly supported under OS X. To be blunt, the Steam Controller is half implemented. Keyboard and mouse emulation are functional if you opt-in to the latest Steam client beta, but gamepad emulation is non-functioning. Valve has apologized, and promises fixes within the next few weeks, but as of right now it's impossible for us to recommend this to Mac users. MS Access for Mac Does anyone know if there is, or if there is going to be, a Mac version of Access? I am trying to find a way to use a few reference Access databases I'd like to use in the field. Genuine Microsoft Access only exists for Windows. There are various Access 'readers' for the Mac which do not sound sufficient for your needs, there is also a tool for converting Access files to other formats e.g. FileMaker which again does not sound suitable for your needs. Beyond that there are I believe some Mac programs for 'running' Access databases but again if this is for study purposes I would suggest they also are not suitable. Really it sounds for your purposes you need 100% genuine Microsoft Access and the only way to do this is to use either Boot Camp which lets you boot your Mac in to real Windows. (You will have to installed Windows.) Or to create a virtual machine on your Mac inside of which you also run genuine Windows, or a final possibility is to use CrossOver Mac which is a way of running some Windows applications on a Mac without having Windows itself.
